To the Citizens of Cass County,
I am proud to offer my personal and professional endorsement of Sheriff Bryan Welk for Cass County Sheriff.
As Sheriff of Itasca County, I have had the opportunity to work with Sheriff Welk and get to know him not only as a fellow sheriff, but as a respected colleague and friend. Bryan and I have trained together, discussed the challenges facing law enforcement, and shared ideas on how we can better serve our communities.
One experience that stands out to me is attending the National Sheriff’s Leadership Institute together. That program brings sheriffs from across the country together to strengthen leadership, decision-making, and service to the public. Through that experience, I saw firsthand Bryan’s commitment to becoming the best leader he can be for the people of Cass County.
Bryan has also been engaged in important statewide efforts surrounding mental health and public safety. These issues matter deeply to me, both as a sheriff and as someone who serves on the NAMI Board. Law enforcement is often called to respond when people and families are in crisis, and it is critical that sheriffs understand the importance of compassion, partnerships, training, and appropriate resources. Bryan understands that, and he has shown a real commitment to being part of the solution.
Sheriff Welk is steady, thoughtful, and committed to doing the work for the right reasons. He understands that public safety is built not only through enforcement, but through trust, relationships, and service. Cass County is fortunate to have a sheriff who brings experience, professionalism, and heart to the job every day.
